Leopard Accents

I just adore adding touches of leopard to Fall's rich hues. I feel that the right leopard accessories can elevate a basic outfit to another level. Here's a little inspiration from around the blogosphere and Pinterest:

A Few Fall Pieces

I haven't shopped much lately, but here a few pieces that I picked up in preparation for Fall (whenever it decides show up in Alabama).

Denim Jacket (Sold Out)

 1. A great fitting denim jacket is a wardrobe staple, and I love the wash on this one.
2. A faux leather jacket in an edgy cut and/or color can be worn over everything from feminine dresses to basic jeans with a tee.
3. The wedge sneaker is a trend that slowly grew on me. I scored this neutral pair at a great sale price, and I think they'll add a little something to my casual outfits.
4. Every girl needs a pair of leopard shoes! I plan on treating these like a neutral and wearing them with everything.
5. A cozy sweatshirt for those Fall ball games and lounging.

Star Spangled

I'm loving these printed jeans! The stars are so cute, even though they are really subtle in these pictures. I think they add a little extra something to an otherwise simple look.

Dr. Scholl's® For Her High Heel Insoles

I recently had the opportunity to try out Dr. Scholl's® For Her High Heel Insoles as part of the Influenster Sunkissed Vox Box program.

The Deets:

Dr. Scholl's® For Her High Heel Insoles are proven to improve the way you feel in heels. The unique design helps prevent foot aches and pains caused by high heels two inches and higher. Plus, the ultra-soft gel arch shifts pressure off the ball of your foot while providing guaranteed all-day comfort.

The Good:

The fact that these insoles are clear is a major positive as this allows you to wear them with strappy sandals without being conspicuous. The insoles are also very flexible and cushion-y from the gel. The extra gel in the arch is an awesome addition, especially for us flat footed ladies. The gel in the ball of foot area also allows for less forward sliding of the foot, and takes a lot of the usual pressure off of that area.

The Bad:

The only negative aspect of the insole is the adhesive. It's not very strong, so after several hours one of the insoles started shifting. Also, it would be extremely useful if the adhesive allowed for reuse in different shoes.

The Conclusion:

Even with the adhesive issue, I would definitely recommend these to every single lady out there. These provide that extra comfort that will allow you to wear your heels for an extended period of time.

Goody Ouchless Ribbon Elastics

I recently had the chance to test out one of Goody's latest products, the Ouchless Ribbon Elastics. As a lover of all things ponytail, I was excited to see if the product lived up to its claims.

The Deets:
"Goody’s NEW Ouchless Ribbon Elastics offer you a unique hair tie to personalize your ponytail. As beautiful as ribbons but soft and stretchy too, these hair ties are “knot” your average elastic. New Ribbon Elastics are both comfortable and fashionable, plus look great in your hair or on your wrist."

The Good:

These elastics are extremely soft and comfortable on the hair. They don't snag or pull hair out as you are taking them off. Another plus is that they don't leave unsightly dents in your hair like other elastics. The range of colors is nice and the knot tie is a cute little addition to your regular ponytail. My daughter likes to wear them on her wrist, but I'm past the days of stacking elastics. The elastics are also very reasonably priced at around $3 or $4 for a pack of five.

The Bad:

I really wanted to love this product, but I was disappointed in the fact that I was not able to wrap the elastic around my hair enough times to really get a secure hold. I have long, thick, heavy hair so a tight wrap is essential if the ponytail is hold all day. The elastics also stretch out fairly quickly with regular use.

The Conclusion:

I would only recommend these to those with thinner hair or those who like loose ponytails. I would also recommend them to younger girls who like the look of a cute ribbon on their wrist. I will continue to use the elastics that I have, but I don't see myself purchasing them in the future.

You can check out this product and others on Goody's website.

Summer Uniform

Whenever I'm at a loss for what to wear or I need to get dressed quickly, I go straight to my summer uniform: flowy top, jeans, and cute sandals. I try to up the chic factor and add a little something to the look by wearing simple pieces with extra details such as the studs on the shirt and the leopard print on the sandals.

Hi-Lo Can You Go

I've been living in these sheer tops lately because the South is in full on summer blaze mode right now. I threw on a pair of distressed skinnies and a pair of cute sandals to complete the look. Easy and breezy!

Oh yeah, I've got new hair for the summer. I decided to get box braids so that I don't have to fuss with my humidity loving hair while I'm on vacation.

Ivory 2-IN-1 Hair & Body Wash (Product Review)

I am an Influenster. What is an Influenster you might ask? Influensters are a "Community of trendsetters invited to share their lifestyles and show their influence to qualify for personalized product shipments, special rewards and exclusive deals from the brands they love. Members love testing the latest products, giving insightful feedback, and spreading the word on their favorite finds!". As an Influenster, I get to test different products (some before they even hit the shelves) through the VoxBox program. If you're interested in learning more visit their website here.
The latest product that I've had the pleasure of reviewing is the new Ivory 2-IN-1 Hair & Body Wash:
The Claim:

SIMPLIFY YOUR SHOWER WITH IVORY 2-IN-1 POWER! • Cleans head to toe with dual action formula • Washes away dirt and odor • Leaves hair clean and conditioned • Free of dyes & heavy perfumes • Saves shower space with just ONE bottle • 50% MORE than other 2-IN-1 brands • Made in the USA

*I'm going to review this product as a bodywash and shampoo/conditioner separately*

Bodywash Review:

I was really impressed with this product. It has a nice, clean fragrance that is not overpowering. It lathers very well on a pouf or towel, and a little goes a long way. It also rinses away clean without leaving a layer of film, and is fairly moisturizing. I didn't experience that tight, itchy feeling on my legs after showering that I've gotten with other products. Another plus is the huge bottle that you get for around the same price as other smaller bodywashes.

Shampoo/Conditioner Review:

I was thoroughly shocked that this product worked on my kids' hair. My daughter has extremely thick, dry, tightly coiled African American hair, and this product left her hair clean, moisturized, and tangle free. My son loves washing his hair with this, and it leaves his hair soft and curly. I did not try this product on my hair because my hair is chemically straightened and needs specific products.

The Verdict:

I would definitely recommend this product! I actually haven't used my old brand of bodywash since I received this bottle, and I'll probably purchase more when we finally run out.

Here's a link to the Ivory digital short about the product. You can also check out Ivory's Facebook page for info on all things Ivory.

Stripes for Graduation

I can't believe my baby girl has graduated from 5th grade! I'm so proud of her, but I'm even more afraid of having a middle schooler!

Can you tell that I worked a 12 hour shift last night?

 All A's All Year!

Does the fact that she's almost my height mean that I'm short or that she's just tall at 11?

When Did I Become a Dress Girl?

Old Navy Dresses

I'm not really sure what has come over me lately, but for some reason I find myself being drawn to dresses. I have always been a tomboy, and hardly ever wear dresses or skirts. My friends still joke about the fact that they can count the number of times that they've seen me in a dress excluding college graduation, my wedding, and bridesmaid duty for two of them. I don't know what it is, but these Old Navy dresses have seriously caught my eye. I've already purchased the green crepe in the middle and the black/white striped in the right corner, and I'm seriously contemplating picking up the white AND the yellow eyelet ones, also. My mom would be so proud, lol!

(This is not a sponsored post! My little ol' blog isn't big enough for that, yet!)

Five Question Friday

1. What was the most productive thing you have done this week?
I put the finishing touches on my daughter's birthday weekend. Cupcakes with her class today, and      a softball game followed by a pizza party tomorrow. I can't believe she'll be eleven on Sunday!!

2. Enjoying the winter or ready for spring?

I'm beyond ready for spring! I'm so over this cold weather, and  I'm ready for light layers, soft colors, and sandals.

3. Are you an introvert or extrovert? Is your spouse the same as you?

I'm actually an extroverted introvert. I'm introverted at heart, but can be the life of the party (when I choose to be). My husband, on the other hand, is super extroverted! He's never met a stranger, and talks to everyone.

4. Would you rather go without music or television for 1 year?

I would have to choose television because I literally listen to music every day. I play music at work (12 hours straight), when I study, when I clean, in the shower, etc., etc.

5. Have you ever been truly scared of someone?

There was this one older guy when I was little that truly scared the bejeezus out of me. He was super creepy in my little mind.
